Why do I get the dreaded red X when I create a
new post or email?
Why do I keep getting the same SigTag with each post?
Question: Why do I get the dreaded red X when I create a new post or email?
Answer: This problem
can be caused by several different things. Most commonly this is caused by the fact
that the graphic file referenced in the html code either does not exist or the path to the
file is not correct. This can also be caused by the graphic file being renamed with
an incorrect file extension.
Solution: When
you get the red X do a right click on the red X and check the file properties to find out
what file is being referenced. Then go into SigSimple and uninstall that SigTag and
reinstall it. If that doesn't fix the problem then it's most likely that the graphic
file has been renamed using an incorrect file extension. If you open the file with a
graphic editor and the file extension is wrong most graphics programs will tell you that
the file is not a valid gif or jpeg file. Simple rename the file uninstall the
SigTag and reinstall it and the Red X should disappear.
Question: Why do I keep getting the same SigTag with each post?
Answer: When this
happens it is almost certainly caused by one of two things Either the randomizer is
no longer running or the randomizer is not the default Signature in Outlook Express.
Solution: Go
into into SigSimple to the Tools menu and Stop the Randomizer and then restart the
Randomizer. Check to see if the problem is resolved. If not, in Outlook
Express go to Tools/Options to the Signatures Tab and set RandomSig as the default tag. |
